Launched with a Bang!
The Freedom Package was launched on Independence Day in Bangalore, and followed soon after by a mobile unit that drove around all major corporate localities, concentrating on the large number of IT companies that employ IITians.

The van attracted a lot of attention – from both IITians and others, and there has been sharp spurt in registrations from Bangalore!

Orkut Buyukkokten
Orkut Buyukkokten His name is synonymous with social networking, and he will be at the 2008 Global Conference. This high impact but low profile Google product manager will feature in a panel with select IIT students and high schoolers.

Amartya Sen
Amartya Sen The Nobel Laureate has rescheduled his busy schedule to make time for us, and will be flying in to deliver the closing address at the conference. You can hear from the man who has made it all the way to the highest honour in his career.

Hema Malini
Hema Malini Who can ever forget Basanti in Sholay? But there's a lot more to her than that awesome role. A professional dancer, a top-notch actress, a successful home-maker, now devoting time to charitable and social ventures, Hema Malini will participate in the Family Track at the 2008 conference.

Ameen Sayani
Ameen Sayani For those who tuned in late, just a reminder that Ameen Sayani, the most famous Emcee ever, will be presenting a classic selection of Hindi film melodies. Prepare to be transported back to the Binaca Geet Mala days!

Masquerade
Masquerade Kalakshetra will be presenting a dance drama adapted from 'The Man in the Iron Mask'. Definitely not to be missed!

State Bank of India (Gold Sponsor)
State Bank of India SBI has now joined Google and the Tata Group as one of the three Gold Sponsors for the 2008 Global Conference. Pan IIT looks forward to a long and sustained association with SBI ? even after the conference.

Editor's Note
There has been a lot of action in the past 4 weeks, and a number of star speakers have confirmed participation. The Family track is shaping up nicely, and December will be an exciting month for then as well!

In just a few weeks' time, I hope to give you more details about the mega entertainment being organized, and the arrangements that are being finalized for travel and hotel accommodation. Stay tuned!
