Santhanam made a presentation on 2008 Global Conference. The evening was wonderful with good music by the Delhi Alumni. 150 Alumni along with their family were in attendance.
The Delhi outreach was organised by S. Kannan of IITD in the committee, along with the local lead Sri Yogesh Andlay. All gathered at the Dogra hall in IITDelhi for an evening's get-together. A musical extravaganza was provided by the alumni and their family which every one enjoyed.
Santhanam presented the PanIIT event and went on to describe the various initiatives taken by PanIIT to make this a movement. The road map for the year 2008 for the Indo US Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) was explained. It includes the forthcoming workshop on Infosys Campus for 600 instructors with about 20 faculty from US conducting various one week programmes over 6 weeks.
A golf tournament had been organized about which Ashok Singh spoke. 60 IITians participated along with 20 non-alumni. The tournament generated an interest among the participants and there are plans afoot to organize some more of this.
The activities of IITians for ITI were indicated, including the MOU agreement with L&T ECC. Also the forthcoming meeting of some principals and IMC Chairpersons of ITIs in Chennai on 26th May 2008, along with CII, was mentioned.
Kalyan made a brief presentation on Reach4India, which is a high quality human capital channel for deployment of PanIIT approved developmental initiatives and/ or social goods/ services at grass root level enabled by technology, on the 1st project start-up of a driving school in Gurgaon.
There was time for individual networking after the event when high tea was served.
The next day the Executive Committee meeting of PanIIT was held at the board room of IIT Delhi.
