The 2008 Global Conference was introduced during an interview with the Hindu on April 3 by B. Santhanam, the chairman of the PanIIT 2008 organizing Committee.
Santhanam is an alumnus of IIT Madras, and presently the Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Glass India.
