Crème de la Crème Business Plan Conclave

IIT Alumni 2008 Global Conference is being held at IIT Madras, from 19th to 21st December in Chennai. With 3000 alumni Participants from around the globe, a galaxy of eminent speakers, and selected sponsors who are leaders in their industry, the 2008 Global Conference Promises to be the most impressive ever.
Nurturing Entrepreneurship
The Purpose of the Crème de la Crème business Plan conclave is to identify the top business Plans and nurture the entrepreneurs through mentoring from IIT Alumni's vast network, by connecting to successful entrepreneurs/ leading venture Capitalists and enabling development of relationships across India and the rest of the world.
The organizers of this event wish to bring the finalists (top 5) of business plan competitions held across India and globally over the last 12 months, by partner organizations that are focused on entrepreneur development like TiE, eCell Network of IIT's. No direct entries will be accepted other than through the partner organizations.
All of the entries will be invited to participate in the Pan IIT 2008 Global Conference, and the organizers will help the entrepreneurs of the entries to connect with potential mentors, investors, customers and employees.
The entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to present their business Plan to a committee of successful entrepreneurs, Venture Capitalists, and industrialists and utilize the conference to network. The committee will evaluate and award the business Plans under these four categories: most inspiring student/ recent-graduate Plan, most inspiring early-stage venture, most inspiring late-stage venture and most inspiring social entrepreneurial venture. The objective is to bring these budding entrepreneurs under one platform at the PanIIT 2008 Global Conference and help arrange for introductions and ongoing mentoring for the top 15 business Plans beyond the event, and nurture them with the help of IIT Alumni network.
Timeline and Process
November 30th: Last date for receipt of business Plans (unless partner organizations have their annual business plan event post November 30th, in which case we will accommodate entries till Dec 18th)
December 1st to 18th: Screening of business plans
December 20th: Face-to-face business plan presentation to committee
December21st: Announcement of leading business plans, and launch of mentoring/ nurturing efforts by IIT Alumni
